It often happens that jewelry waits for the right person at the right time, defining the meaning of ‘bespoke’. A man came in for a gift for his wife in honor of their 40th Anniversary. What we found for him was matching pair of Copper & Sterling Navajo cuff bracelets. He asked the meaning of the stamps used and this is what we created as a story. I see mountains in the smaller cuff and flying owls in the larger cuff. The ends are embellished with Naja’s and feathers.
“Two eagle feathers are woven into the spirit of these pieces — symbols of honor, courage, and connection to the sky. In Navajo belief, eagle feathers carry prayers to the heavens. These are your prayers carried on the wind: for each other, for the life you’ve built, for the sacred bond still strong after all these years.
At the center, the Naja—the crescent-shaped symbol that graces the Navajo squash blossom—stands as a guardian of love and protection. Traditionally worn over the heart, the Naja is believed to ward off harm and invite blessings. Here, it holds the space between you: open, powerful, and sacred.
Threaded through the story are mountains, the four sacred ones that protect and define the Navajo homeland, representing strength, stability, and the endurance of love that weathers all seasons. You are one another’s mountain—ever steady, always present.
And in the quiet of dusk, the owl—messenger and keeper of wisdom—reminds you to trust your inner knowing, to see not just with the eyes, but with the soul. For in forty years of shared laughter, loss, growth, and grace, you have come to know each other in a way only time can teach.
These bracelets are more than adornment—they are a story. A shared life. A promise renewed.
Together, you are two feathers on the same wind. Two souls in the same sky.”
