Magnesite, also called ‘Wild Horse’ Turquoise, is such a beautiful stone.

Wild Horses

The common name of this stone made sense to me when I decided to photograph it on this Taos Drum of wild horses.

This is my newest favorite necklace.  I made two of them this week from old bead inventory that I’ve been collecting since the late 1990’s.  I kept one for myself and sold the one pictured.

Magnesite has a wonderful energy to it.  A single stone cabachon is not too impressive but when an entire necklace has graduated beads with slight variations of subtle organic color shifts, it is as striking as an appaloosa running free.
