I would love to invite you to our final event of the year. Gregory Hoff, a master in flameworked glass will be here all day Saturday, Dec. 15th, offering demonstrations. He has taught at the Bemis School at Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center and the Montreal School of Glass.
His work will also be available to purchase throughout the day so plan to come by, enjoy hot cider and watch him work his magic with the glass and the flame.
“My glasswork is created through a process known as flameworking. Historically known as lampworked glass, this branch of the glass family tree involves manipulating glass tubes and rods in front of an oxygen and propane torch at extremely high temperatures. My shapes and patterns are created freehand, in front of the flame, through heat, gravity, and tooling. My inspiration comes from the natural world that surrounds us, and our brief time in it. I love the fact that, once created, a piece of glass can easily last millennia. ”
